Alvin Anton

Alvin joined Summit Financial in May of 2017 as the Chief Investment Officer, whereby his primary role was to guide the tactical investment strategies for Summit’s clients. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in August of 2023 and will continue Founder, Thomas Graham’s, vision of providing comprehensive financial, retirement, investment, and employee benefit planning for individuals and businesses. In that capacity, he understands the complexities of investment risk management, financial planning, and the overall securities industry, including insurance products and services. Additionally, Alvin will remain a member of the Investment Committee while also carrying out the role of Chief Compliance Officer for the firm.

With over 30 years of experience, Alvin brings a vast knowledge of managing institutional assets to Summit. Prior to joining Summit, Alvin served as Senior Director of Investments at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. During his 13 years with CareFirst, he was responsible for the oversight of $5+ billion in corporate/retirement assets, internal management of $1+ billion in fixed-income assets, and leading the portfolio management team. As head of the portfolio management team, his other responsibilities included strategic/tactical asset allocation, performance, risk monitoring, due diligence, and manager selection. Alvin began his career working in fixed income at T. Rowe Price and then went on to manage fixed income portfolios for the PSERS Pension Fund. His credentialing includes the AIF® – Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation.

A lifetime resident of the Baltimore area, Alvin attended Calvert Hall and then Towson University where he earned a B.S. in Accounting. He lives in Hunt Valley with his wife, Aimee, and their three sons – Ryan, Michael, and Steven
